Enhanced Fujita scale (EF-Scale)

The Enhanced Fujita scale (EF-Scale) rates the strength of tornadoes in the United States based on the damage they cause.  Introduced in 1971 by Tetsuya Theodore Fujita (Mr. Tornado), it began operational use in the United States on February 1, 2007 - a damage scale and only a proxy for actual wind speeds - differentiates tornado intensity and links tornado damage with wind speed. Fujita was a pioneer in the development of tornado overflight and damage survey techniques, which he used to study and map[3] the paths of the two tornadoes that hit Lubbock, Texas on May 11, 1970

Replace Chimney Flashing

You owe yourself a visual roof inspection which allows you to identify missing, curled, cracked, or torn and damaged shingles, raised nails, penetrations and accumulated debris before more extensive damage requires a full roof replacement.

One of the most vulnerable areas and most common roof system problems involves chimney flashing. A saddle flashing (cricket) can be beneficial to wide chimneys to prevent standing water and leaves from collecting between the roof and the chimney, dormer windows or skylights.

Flashings seal the roof system edges, perimeters, penetrations, walls, valleys, drains and any other area where the actual roof covering is interrupted or terminated (any lapse in the roof system where water, insects, or debris may enter). If not properly sealed, oxidization and loose or deteriorating flashings could lead to roof leaks.
